Read the details below

Seychelles is visa-free for short tourism stays, but since 1 April 2022 every visitor must obtain a Travel Authorization (TA) through the Seychelles Electronic Border System before boarding the flight to Mahe. Two exclusions apply: Kosovo nationals are refused entry and transit (Seychelles does not recognize Kosovo), and Nigerian ordinary passport holders have been banned for tourism since July 2023 (diplomatic/official passport holders and work/resident permit holders unaffected). On arrival, immigration issues a separate free Visitor's Permit (paper stamp) for the first 3 months. Reference: Official Seychelles e-Border portal (ICS).

Frequently Asked Questions

Seychelles is technically a visa-free destination for short tourist stays, but since 1 April 2022 every visitor regardless of nationality must obtain a Travel Authorization (TA) before boarding their flight. The TA is an electronic pre-screening document - not a visa - issued by the Seychelles Electronic Border System, operated by Seychelles' Immigration and Civil Status (ICS) department at seychelles.govtas.com. The TA is mandatory for tourism, short business, and short family visits. Two nationalities are excluded: Kosovo (Seychelles does not recognize the state) and Nigeria (tourism ban since July 2023). All other nationalities require the TA, although on arrival immigration officers issue a free Visitor's Permit (paper stamp in passport) for the first 3 months - the TA is the upstream pre-screening, the Visitor's Permit is the downstream entry stamp.
