Indian passport - applied for a two-week Bangkok and Phuket trip. They flagged that my proof of funds was unclear and helped me fix it, and the eVisa came through well before my flight.

British passport - wanted a full 60 days for Chiang Mai and the islands rather than the shorter visa-free stay, so the tourist eVisa made sense. Clear all-inclusive price and a smooth process.
Chinese passport - quick and stress-free. They reminded me about the TDAC arrival card, which I had not heard of. Approved comfortably ahead of the trip to Bangkok.

Separate from your eVisa, every visitor must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), mandatory since 1 May 2025 in place of the old paper TM6 form. It is free and is filled in online within 72 hours before arrival.
Have your onward travel and proof of funds ready, as they can be checked at the border.
Note that Thailand has approved cutting some visa-free stays from 60 to 30 days, which makes the tourist eVisa the practical choice for a longer trip.
For official guidance see the Thailand Immigration Bureau TDAC portal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Many nationalities can still enter Thailand visa-free for short tourism, so check the country list above first. You will want the eVisa if your passport is not visa-exempt, if you are arriving for a purpose other than a short holiday, or if you want a confirmed 60-day stay. Thailand has approved cutting several visa-free stays from 60 to 30 days, so if you plan to stay longer than the visa-free window, the tourist eVisa is the cleaner route.
