Bigi Pan birding trip + Brownsberg overnight. Multi-entry was the right call since we ferried over to French Guiana for a day. eVisas confirmed both routes upfront.
Filed under the e-Visa track since my nationality was reimposed in 2023. Team handled the extra documentation cleanly. Approved on Standard in 4 days.
CARICOM nationals enter Suriname fee-free
Details of visa-free nationalities
Citizens of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states - Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago - enter Suriname visa-free and fee-free for tourism stays and are not served by this product. The same applies to diplomatic/official/service passport holders, UN Laissez-Passer / Interpol passport holders, and Persons of Surinamese Origin (PSA) holders. Haitian nationals are refused entry and transit at Suriname (despite Haiti being a CARICOM member). Reference: Official Suriname e-Visa portal (VFS Global).
Frequently Asked Questions
Suriname operates a two-track entry system through the same official VFS Global portal at suriname.vfsevisa.com. The e-Tourist Card is the headline product for tourism and short family visits, available to most nationalities, valid 3 months from issue with a 90-day stay. The e-Visa is required for the 21 specific nationalities that Suriname re-imposed visa requirements on from 1 May 2023 (citing past abuse of visa-free stays) - these nationalities cannot use the simpler Tourist Card and must complete a more detailed e-Visa application. Both are issued electronically and presented at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport (PBM) on arrival. We handle both products through the same workflow.
