About Algerian Passport
An Algerian passport reaches further than many expect, with the easiest travel across the Maghreb, Africa and parts of Asia. It ranks 76th on the Henley Passport Index, opening around 55 destinations visa-free or on arrival.
For most other countries the quickest way in is an online eVisa or eTA - completed from home and emailed back to you. Wherever you head, keep your passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date.

Regional travel for Algerians
Read the travel policy details for Algerian
Algeria is a member of the African Union, the Arab League and the Arab Maghreb Union. Algerians travel visa-free to several partners - including Tunisia (90 days), plus Mali, Mauritania and Libya - and further afield to Malaysia. Turkey requires a visa for most Algerian adults, with visa-free entry only for children under 15 and travellers over 65.
Note: there is no visa-free travel to Morocco - a visa is required and the land border is closed - and all Schengen countries in Europe require a short-stay Schengen visa arranged at a consulate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quite a few for the region - roughly 55 countries and territories let Algerians in without arranging a visa first. About 22 of those are fully visa-free, meaning you just show your passport at the border, while the rest grant a visa on arrival once you land. Familiar open doors for Algerians include Tunisia, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania and the Maldives. For anywhere not on that list you will need an eVisa, an eTA, or an embassy visa before you travel, so it is always worth checking your exact destination before you book.
