About Chile Passport
The Chilean passport is the strongest in Latin America, ranking around 16th on the Henley Passport Index and opening roughly 170 destinations visa-free or with a visa on arrival - including the United States, the Schengen area, Japan and all of South America.
Only a small group of countries still want an online eVisa or eTA from Chileans - and those are exactly the ones we handle for you. Wherever you travel, keep your passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date.

Read the travel policy details for Chile
As a Mercosur associate, a Chilean can enter, live and work across South America - Chile, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia and Ecuador - using just the national ID card, with no passport or visa needed. Chile also stands out as the only South American country whose citizens enter the United States visa-free, on an ESTA.
Further afield, Chileans enter Europe’s Schengen area visa-free for short stays. Two changes to watch: the UK now needs an ETA before you fly, and Europe’s ETIAS online authorisation is being rolled out - both are quick and online, not full visas, and we can prepare the UK ETA and US ESTA for you.
